Alongside the core dimensions of the Civic Empowerment Index, the 2024 research also examined civic preparedness. While the 2023 Civic Empowerment Index focused on how personally prepared residents feel for emergency situations and how they understand their role in national defense, the 2024 research shifted attention to two other aspects of civic preparedness: the willingness to act together with others during emergencies, to volunteer in crisis management, and societal cohesion.
This year’s research also devoted special attention to volunteering, organizational membership, and the overall public image of NGOs.
